After qualifying in 1998, Shawqi completed his dental training in general practice and implants placement before entering the NHS hospital service. He has worked in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery units across Ireland and UK. In 2005 he was awarded the prestigious membership of Royal College of Surgeons of England and Ireland, followed by a Fellowship in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in 2005.
In 2009 he was awarded a medical degree from Barts and the London University to pursue a career in Maxillofacial Surgery. During his training he worked in Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology, General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Urology, Vascular surgery and ENT.
Shawqi gained Advanced Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Sedation certificate, Care of Critically ill Surgical patients and many other certificates.
Shawqi has delivered many lectures to general dental and medical practitioners nationally and internationally and actively contributes to teaching and publications.
He was awarded the Primary Care Oral Surgery service for Harlow and Thurrock and accepts referrals from dental and medical practitioners to carry out complicated oral surgery and dental implants procedures.
He is a clinical mentor in Minor Oral Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of England where he teaches dentists surgical procedures.
Shawqi is an expert in Oral Surgery, Implantology, Fastbraces and Aesthetic Dentistry.
Jennifer Magner – Specialist Nurse
(RN, RNT, MSc, PGDip, Independent Nurse Prescriber)
Jenny qualified as a nurse in 1999 at the Mater Misericordia Hospital in Dublin and has 10 years of
cosmetic injectables experience. In 2003 she gained a postgraduate Diploma in Specialist nursing
from The National University of Ireland, Trinity College.
In 2004 after training as a Surgical First Assistant at the Countess of Chester Hospital, she worked
across many specialities including, Vascular, Urology and Gynae, Burns and Plastics, Maxillo-facial
and General surgery.
Jenny’s focus is on client safety and drawing on her excellent knowledge and skills to provide very
focused and individualised treatments. She spends considerable time listening to her clients before
recommending the best course of treatments as well as ensuring her clients can look wonderful.
She is very proud to be CQC registered and validated by Save Face.
Pam Barrett – Practice Administrator
Pam has worked with Dr Al-Hashemi since 2010 and is responsible for coordinating the Minor Oral Surgery clinics as well as managing the reception.
Pam Barrett comes from a secretarial background and has also worked as a medical secretary. She is a highly valued and important member of the team.
Pam has three grown up children and enjoys ’70s music, theatre and cinema.
